Client Overview

IIJF Limited received charitable status on September 1st 2014 and a client to whom they outsourced some of the merchandising to, contacted us for support. They were providing back office supports to the charity and controlling stock amongst other functions and the client was keen to ensure a transparent, fully controlled solid finance system to manage and control this aspect of their business in a cost efficient manner. We built a bespoke management information system and integrated it for them to give peace of mind when making decisions around the buying and selling of merchandise and for event cost management. As it was a charity they were handling the merchandise and book-keeping of all events and so they needed a system that was easy to use, developed to analyse sectors and events, compatible with their other business activities and one that offered transparency and control along with segregation of the duties for compliance.

The Challenge

Understanding the business model and its divisions is always a challenge with a new entity and this project structure was evolving throughout the project. The client required a comprehensive system with multiple functions to ensure compliance, transparency, user friendliness in its adaptation, but most importantly a succinct system to ensure clarity on the performance indicates controls for finance.

The Results

AAL provided a bespoke system that the company uses daily, seamlessly incorporated into the office. The system has reduced duplication and double jobbing of processes and provided solutions in accordance with the unique requirements of the client. A bespoke package was delivered with details on process, procedures and implementation and training by way of walk through tests.  There is now a high quality data system that provides clear and concise information that is essential to making decisions on a daily basis. The MIS created offered a customised solution at a fraction of the price. We have continued working work with the client since this project in an advisory capacity.

I cannot commend Áine and the team at AAL highly enough for their support, they understood the intricacies of merchandising and the compliance, controls and transparency I needed from the system. It was less than half the price of any package I had researched yet exceeded what every package could do without the need for compatible plug-ins which was unbelievable. The automated reporting function built into the system allows me to make decisions about various lines and suppliers quickly and effectively. Their knowledge and understanding of charity accounting procedures and legislation was on point and very reassuring when handling such an important part of the business for us. Their in-depth knowledge on how an operation works added to the success of our bespoke system to ensure full security in the delivery of the project. I would have no hesitation in recommending AAL to any charitable organisation.
